This programme aims to provide students with the specialised technical knowledge and skills from within the Information technology profession that focus on the specialisation of 'Networks and Systems Administration'. Graduates of this programme will be able to demonstrate theoretical knowledge and specialised technical skills with depth in the field of systems and network administration by analysing and generating solutions to implement and maintain systems, networks and cloud based solutions to meet broadly defined organisational requirements.
The programme has been developed for students who already have a foundation of Information technology and wish to acquire more specialised knowledge and skills related to networks, systems and cloud technology in accordance with IT industry requirements. This programme will also benefit individuals who are employed in the IT industry and would like to gain further credentials that will support to advance their career in the field of systems, networks and cloud technology administration.
The programme aims to produce graduates that will be able to select, adapt and apply scripting, database management, system configuration, network administration and advanced cloud based processes, tools and techniques to plan, design, implement, automate, secure and evaluate IT systems, applications and networks to fulfill the requirements of an organisation.
Graduates will gain knowledge and skills of scripting languages and database systems to support and automate IT systems and applications. They will also acquire specialised knowledge and skills in applying and evaluating contemporary processes, tools and techniques to implement, maintain, secure and troubleshoot networks and systems. Graduates will be able to evaluate and apply key design principles and contemporary cloud technologies and tools to implement and maintain infrastructures virtualisation. In addition to this, graduates will be able to apply IT service management and change management processes and procedures to comply with organisational requirements.
